Singles Walking Weekends
outdoorConnections has been running Singles Guided Walking Weekends since 2002. Aimed at active singles in their 20’s - 50’s, these popular events bring like-minded people together for fun, sharing and walking. A range of guided walks is usually offered so everyone can find a walk suited to them.
Come and join for this great chance to make lots of new friends.
Sample Programme
Friday evening: Join us as soon as you can after 6pm for informal drinks and a chance to get to know some folks before a hot buffet.
Saturday: A choice of guided day walks graded to suit different tastes and abilities. All walks are led by carefully chosen qualified mountain leaders with first aid qualifications.
Saturday evening: Evening entertainment during the Singles weekends varies, and could include a banquet, a BBQ, an evening sunset cruise, a bonfire, an african drumming workshop, a quiz, musical entertainment etc… Whatever happens, you can be assured that it will be light-hearted fun that won’t put you on the spot, but which will help you get to know other folks in a relaxed environment. Sunday: Another choice of guided day walks. We aim to finish by late afternoon to allow time for your journey home.

What's included:
- 2 nights accommodation in shared rooms (3 nights accommodation on the Borrowdale August Bank Holiday weekend).
- 2 days of guided walks with qualified walk leaders.
- All meals if full board package chosen (with packed lunches to provide maximum time on the hill).
- Saturday evening entertainment.
What's not included:
- Transport to and from venue.
- Fares if walks chosen require bus/boat transport.
- Meals if self catering option chosen.
- Alcohol - but all the youth hostels used are licensed.
- Optional activities on the Sunday of the Borrowdale August Bank Holiday weekend.
- Optional scrambling on Helvellyn weekend may cost a little more, depending on how many people request it.
- Cancellation insurance - it is recommended that you take out holiday insurance

At first I wasn't sure about booking onto the singles weekend. However, it gave me the confidence to start feeling good about myself again after my divorce, and the courage to start socialising once more. Great company, superb walks and lots of laughter - I recommend it!
